Life+ Programme
With the LIFE+ programme, the EU is sponsoring the further development and implementation of environmental policies in EU Member States.
Life+ has three strands:
1. Nature and biodiversity:
Demonstration projects that support the implementation of the EU Directives on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild birds
2. Environmental policy and governance:
- Demonstration projects for innovative environmental technologies
- Contributions to the development and demonstration of innovative policy ideas, technologies, methods and tools
- Support for the development and implementation of concepts for the monitoring and evaluation of the state of the environment
- Facilitation of the implementation of the Community’s environmental policies, with particular emphasis on local level
3. Information and communication:
Dissemination of information and awareness of environment issues, including forest fire protection and the promotion of accompanying measures, such as communication activities and campaigns, conferences and training activities
