Management
Management of the BayFORo. Prof. Dr. Dr. hon. Harun Parlar ist the new Executive Director of the Bavarian Research Alliance since 1 January 2009.
He now represents, as the leading administrator in the Alliance, the strategic-political guidelines for BayFOR vis-à-vis decision-makers at the regional, national and European levels. 
Short Profile
The professional career of Professor Parlar has always been characterised by international challenges. His schooling and his university studies led him from New York to Istanbul and Bonn, where he received his PHD in Chemistry.
His research areas are in photochemistry, chemical analysis and chemical food-technology. The PHD chemist is recognised in the professional world as a scientist honoured with numerous prizes, who, with his many years of experience, holds the distinguished Chair for Chemical-Technical Analysis and Chemical Food-Technology at the Technical University Munich in Freising-Weihenstephan.
He is the top director of the RAPS Research Centre and the Director of the Research Centre Weihenstephan for Brewing and Food Chemistry, founded in the summer of 2004. Professor Parlar also intends to continue in his engagement for the Research Centres in Weihenstephan.
