The European Research Council (ERC) has partly adjusted the announced stricter resubmission rules for the 2027 Work Programme. For Starting, Consolidator, Advanced and ERC Plus Grants, the current approach is expected to largely remain in place.

The ERC has responded to feedback from the research community: some of the announced changes to the reapplication rules for the ERC Work Programme 2027 are being revised.

What has the ERC provisionally adjusted for the 2027 Work Programme?

For Starting Grants, Consolidator Grants, Advanced Grants and ERC Plus, the reapplication rules are expected to remain broadly in line with the current approach. For Synergy Grants, the ERC still plans to introduce further restrictions.

Please check the latest information from the ERC

The changes concern the upcoming ERC Work Programme 2027, which has not yet been formally adopted. Applicants should therefore consult the latest ERC information before planning a submission.
