Logo FORIPS

Core project ForIPS: human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS cells) from Parkinson patients and healthy controls

Field of work:

Establishment of a biobank for iPs cell and derived neural cell lines

The core project is the heart of the Bavarian Research Network ForIPS. The core project serves as a platform providing human induced puripotent stem cells and therefrom derived neural cell from Parkinson patients and healthy controls. Theses cells will be made available to all partners in the research network. Additionally the core project will supply the project teams with standardized and validated reagents for stem cells. Scientifically the core project aims to establish complementary reprogramming strategies non integrating in the genom. Further tasks within the framework of the core project will be the advice and education of the collaborating scientists in the iPS cell technology and the establishment of a biobank for human induced pluripotent stem cells in Bavaria.
