- how to develop a compelling EU funding proposal – from analysing a call for proposals and strategic planning to structuring the proposal and applying practical tips for a successful submission;
- how to build a strong international consortium, find suitable project partners, and organise cooperation between academia, industry, municipalities, public-sector stakeholders (e.g. ministries and public authorities) and other relevant stakeholders;
- what matters in EU project management and budget planning – from eligible costs and financial reporting principles to the successful implementation of a European project.

Looking ahead: Further webinars
The three EU Project Essentials webinars provide the methodological foundation for a broader webinar series on Bavarian-Ukrainian cooperation in research and innovation. The knowledge gained will help participants assess funding opportunities and project ideas, identify suitable cooperation partners, and strategically develop joint projects.
From early 2027 onwards, a stronger emphasis will be placed on specific topics, funding programmes and opportunities for cooperation between Bavaria and Ukraine. Further online information and networking events are planned on environmental and climate issues, energy supply and renewable energy, as well as agriculture and the bioeconomy. An additional webinar will focus on the reconstruction of Ukraine and potential contributions by Bavarian stakeholders.
These events will focus on current and upcoming funding opportunities in the respective thematic areas as well as concrete approaches to joint research and innovation projects. Ukrainian and Bavarian stakeholders from academia and industry – including start-ups, SMEs and industrial companies – will have the opportunity to present project ideas and practical examples in pitch presentations. Expert contributions from Bavarian cooperation partners and breakout sessions will provide additional opportunities for discussion, targeted networking and the initiation of new collaborations.
Who are the events for?
The events are aimed at stakeholders from Bavaria and Ukraine, in particular:
- Universities and research institutions
- Start-ups, SMEs and industrial companies
- Municipalities, ministries, public authorities and other public institutions
The webinars are intended both for participants who would like to gain their first experience with European research and innovation projects and for stakeholders who already have concrete project ideas or cooperation interests and would like to deepen their knowledge of EU-funded projects.
Although the events focus on networking between Bavarian and Ukrainian stakeholders, participants from other countries who are interested in taking part in EU projects and cooperating with partners from Bavaria and Ukraine are also very welcome.
