BayFOR at the ‘International Workshop on Future Technologies for Green Electronics’

How can electronics be designed for circularity - from the materials used and production processes to recycling and end-of-life? These and other key questions will be the focus of the ‘International Workshop on Future Technologies for Green Electronics’, which will take place on 21 and 22 July 2025 at Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences.

The event will bring together international experts from science, industry and politics to discuss current developments, challenges and implementation paths for sustainable green electronics.

One focus will be on the political and regulatory framework conditions. In a presentation on 22 July, the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR) will provide a brief insight into European legislation, including the Green Deal, the Ecodesign Regulation (ESPR) and the Digital Product Passport (DPP) - and demonstrate through an example, how SMEs could navigate through the regulatory jungle.

The workshop is part of the international research project ‘Additive Green Electronics (AGE)’ and is funded by the ‘Queensland-Bavarian Collaborative Research Programme’.
