The Scientific Cooperation Office Bavaria-Africa (WKS Bavaria-Africa) of the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR) invites you to attend the side event “GH2 Connect: Bavaria-Kenya & Beyond – Insights into Global Actions for Ramping Up Green Hydrogen Ecosystems” on 24 June 2026 as part of the HYDROGEN DIALOGUE exhibition in Munich. The event will bring together stakeholders from academia, industry, and policy from Europe and Africa and foster exchange on international hydrogen partnerships and the development of sustainable green hydrogen ecosystems. As part of the event, a delegation from Kenya will present the Kenyan hydrogen economy and its potential. Furthermore, WKS Bavaria-Africa will present the Bavarian-Kenyan cooperation platform for a green hydrogen ecosystem, “GH2 Connect Bavaria-Kenya”, as well as relevant funding opportunities.

Strengthening International Hydrogen Partnerships between Bavaria, Kenya and Africa

The aim of the event is to promote professional exchange between European and African stakeholders, share experiences from existing collaborations, and discuss new approaches for joint green hydrogen projects. Participants are expected to include members of a Kenyan women's delegation, Tunisian partners from a predecessor project, as well as additional experts and stakeholders from across Europe and Africa.

GH2 Connect Bavaria-Kenya: Cooperation for a Green Hydrogen Ecosystem

A key focus of the event  will be the presentation of the Kenyan delegation and of the “GH2 Connect Bavaria-Kenya” cooperation platform, in which BayFOR participates as a project partner. The project strengthens collaboration between Bavaria and Kenya in building a green hydrogen economy and brings together stakeholders from academia, industry, education, and public administration. Its objective is to facilitate knowledge exchange, test innovative technologies under real-world conditions, and establish long-term partnerships for a climate-friendly energy future.

Within the project, BayFOR is primarily responsible for networking activities, knowledge exchange, and dialogue facilitation.

Showcasing Green Hydrogen Projects to an International Audience

The event will also provide participants with an opportunity to showcase their own green hydrogen projects and initiatives to an international audience of experts from Europe and Africa. If you would like to present your project, please indicate your interest in the registration form and submit your presentation to bavariakenya-hydrogenplatform@no-spam-pleasebayfor.org no later than 18 June 2026.

The number of presentation slots is limited (maximum 10 minutes per slot). Submissions will be selected based on the quality of the presentation and its relevance to the international audience attending HYDROGEN DIALOGUE.

You will be informed by 22 June 2026 whether your project has been selected for presentation during the event.
