Webinar „Hybrid Energy Storage in Action”: Creating Real-World Impact

09/12/2025
[Translate to Englisch:] Webinar Smhyles Teil 3

Hybrid energy storage solutions are becoming increasingly important, both in research and in practical implementation. They combine different storage technologies to make energy use more efficient, sustainable and reliable. In the third part of the SMHYLES webinar series “Powering the Future” on December 9, 2025, four leading EU projects will demonstrate how innovative hybrid energy storage systems (HESS) are making the transition from development to real-world application.

BayFOR, a project partner in the SMHYLES consortium, will moderate the webinar “Hybrid Energy Storage in Action – Creating Real-World Impact.” The event will focus on the key results and insights from the EU projects HAVEN, SMHYLES, HIHELIOS, and StoRIES, with a particular emphasis on their practical applicability. In addition, experiences from pilot projects and synergies between the initiatives will be presented. The webinar will conclude with an interactive Q&A session, providing an opportunity for questions and discussion with the experts.

Overview of EU projects:

  • HAVEN: Designing modular, scalable, and sustainable HESS combining high-energy and high-power modules.
  • SMHYLES: Demonstrating industrial-scale hybrid systems using reduced critical raw materials and employing eco-friendly aqueous chemistries.
  • HIHELIOS: Demonstrating high-energy and high-power hybrid battery storage solutions for multiple grid services.
  • StoRIES: Strengthening research infrastructures and innovation capacity in energy storage across Europe.

The webinar provides an interactive platform for engaging with the project teams and demonstrates how hybrid energy storage systems are already having measurable impacts on the energy transition.

It is the ideal platform for industry professionals, policymakers, researchers, and the general public who are interested in the future of energy storage technologies and wish to exchange ideas with experts.

The webinar is the third part of the SMHYLES webinar series „Powering the Future “. Part 1 can be found here and part 2 here
