Workshop: Circular Innovation in Household Electronics

How can circular economy be implemented concretely in the field of household electronics? This question will be addressed in a workshop organized by the Zero Waste Innovation Hub of the City of Munich on January 27, 2026, in collaboration with the Electronic Circle of Circular Munich and the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR).

The workshop is aimed at manufacturers of household electronics and components, suppliers, start-ups, product developers, sustainability officers, and innovation enthusiasts from the Munich business region. It offers an ideal platform for professional exchange and networking.

Participants will gain practical knowledge on circular solutions, learn about relevant funding programs for their own project ideas, and learn about concrete tools that enable the implementation of circular design and business models. These tools were developed within the Interreg-CENTRAL-EUROPE project CIRCOTRONIC, which supports the electrical and electronics industry in Central Europe in implementing circular value creation. BayFOR is a partner in the CIRCOTRONIC project.

What to expect:

  • Exciting insights into current challenges, innovative approaches such as Product-as-a-Service, and forward-looking practical examples
  • Insights into the results of the EU project CIRCOTRONIC and introduction of five tested tools and methods to implement circular design in household electronics
  • Work in interactive small groups: analyze real products and develop circular usage concepts
  • Overview of relevant funding programs for companies
  • Exchange on your own challenges and receive impulses for potential solutions
