The generation and concretion of product descriptions takes place in different processes and departments by the application of specific methods and by utilization of a multiplicity of development tools. The information contained in the different product models features a high cross linking. The practice however is occured by many data and information losses, what results in errors, unnecessary iteration loops and necessitates product modifications. Causes are for example the inconsistent description forms for product models in the individual domains or the incompatibility of tools and data formats.
