Knowledge Bases
The core competence of the Knowledge Bases Research Group within FORWISS lies in the area of
consultancy, planning, and development of networked multimedia database and information systems
with in-depth know-how in the management of large-scale, complex information assets. Particular competence exists in the areas of relational and object-oriented DB technology, data warehouses, multidimensional databases, and WWW-based online multimedia databases. The research group co-leader, Dr. Peter Baumann, is founder and speaker of the GI (German Informatics Association) Special Interest Group on Multidimensional Databases.
