FOROB II

BAVARIAN JOINT RESEARCH PROGRAM FOR SURFACE TECHNOLOGY

FOROB 2

I. Protective layers

These projects are concered with the development of surface coatings for protection against wear and oxidation. Examples of application are turbine blades, eyeglassses, casting tools and linear trackings. For the very first time diamond coatings are to be deposited on complex geometries and polymer coatings are to be ceramized by laser.

Projects

  • I.2 Diamond films as protective coatings for metallic components of complex geometry
    more
  • I.1 Dry running and wear reduced linear guidance systems with recirculating linear ball bearings by development and employment of ceramic materials and PVD-solid-lubricant-multilayers
    more
  • I.3 Development of ceramic coatings by pyrolysis, particularly laser pyrolysis of metal organic polymeres
    more
  • I.5 Fabrication of rapid prototyping tools by gradedly sprayed layers in stressed-skin construction
