Marketing opportunities in China are often overestimated due to the fact that the general information available to date is neither particularly specific nor exact. By means of a marketing analysis of the Bavarian tool-manufacturing industry, the project contributes to the identification of untapped marketing opportunities especially for small- and medium-sized businesses which usually do not have the resources to conduct extensive marketing studies. The economic and social conditions and the infrastructure in each province involved in the project are standardized and the specific local and investment conditions are analyzed in the economic centers of Shanghai and Dalian.
