This research project deals with the communication processes between German business representatives and their Indonesian and Mexican counterparts, with special consideration of the role of the German Diaspora culture (arising from the German expatriate community). The aim of the project is to clarify whether, and to what extent, expatriate culture functions as an integrative support or as a hurdle to achieving integration and work efficiency amongst people working abroad.
