Knowledge Bases

System42 encompasses several FORWISS projects in the Data Warehousing field. Our research interests encompass (non-exhaustive list):

  • OLAP (Online Analytical Processing),
  • methods for construction and maintenance of Data Warehouses,
  • metadata management,
  • database technology for Data Warehousing (e.g. index structures)
  • compilation of a Data Warehouse bibliography.

Application:
As the first immediate outcome, the first German-language OLAP market survey was published in 1997. It has been sold many times inbetween. Our modeling methodology was deployed in several projects with our partners for designing and implementing data warehouse and OLAP solutions.
