New Bavarian Office for Business, Science, Technology, Education and Youth Exchange in Israel. Minister of State Dr. Beate Merk in Tel Aviv: "Living culture of remembrance and strong Bavarian-Israeli partnership in the 21st century".
Minister of State Dr. Beate Merk today gave the starting signal in Tel Aviv for the new office of the Free State of Bavaria for Economics, Science, Technology, Education and Youth Exchange in Israel. Merk: "Today we are giving a strong new impulse to the close and friendly relations between Bavaria and Israel. Our office will reflect the entire breadth of Bavarian-Israeli relations. This is how we are positioning ourselves for the future. Israel has developed into one of the most dynamic locations for start-ups and IT security and is a highly attractive partner for Bavaria in business, technology, education, culture and youth. For us, both belong together: looking back to the past and looking ahead to the future. We want a living culture of remembrance and a strong Bavarian-Israeli partnership in the 21st century. This is what our new office in Israel stands for. Located in Mindspace in the centre of Tel Aviv, we are in the midst of innovative and creative minds."
There are already 17 collaborations between Bavarian and Israeli universities and intensive educational cooperation. Further projects are planned for the future, such as a doctoral programme between the Technical University of Munich and Israeli partner universities, an internship for Israeli students in Bavarian companies and an Israel desk at the Bavarian Research Alliance. In addition to scientific cooperation, economic cooperation will also be located in the new office. The office, centrally located in Tel Aviv, will start work on 1 March 2018 under the designated head Steven Schmerz.
