Scholarship Program for Bavarian and Israeli Early Career Researchers 2024-2025 (Deadline: September 15, 2024)

Research and innovation are central to the bilateral relations between Bavaria and Israel, which share a wide range of common scientific interests: health, energy, artificial intelligence, life science, foodtech, security and social science are just some of the topics that are subject of joint research collaborations. The Scholarship Program for Bavarian and Israeli Early Career Researchers 2024-2025 is an initiative funded by the Bavarian Ministry of Science and the Arts to support the bilateral scientific cooperation already at a early stage.

To further strengthen the research ties between Bavaria and Israel, the Bavarian Ministry of Science and the Arts has set up a funding program for early career researchers from Bavaria and Israel. These scholarships subsidy a one-months stay abroad at an Israeli or Bavarian research institute. The program welcomes applicants from all fields of research and aims to open up new opportunities for participants to further develop their academic careers and strengthen their international ties.

Eligibility

The scholarship program invites early career researchers (PhD students and PostDocs) from Bavaria and Israel who plan to complete a one-month stay abroad at a Bavarian/Israeli research institute. The program is open to applicants of any nationality, who are enrolled at a public University or University of Applied sciences located in Bavaria or Israel. Applications from any discipline are welcome.

The program is designed to support participants to extend their international academic network, to meet new partners for joint ideas and to work on their own projects while being abroad (e. g. paper, thesis …). The program does not research support stays at universities where the applicant is enrolled as a PhD student.
