On May 8, 2024, the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR) and the Israel-Europe R&I Directorate (ISERD) organize a joint workshop on several topics from the EU-Mission "A Soil Deal for Europe" to foster joint research cooperation and networking. The event provides insights into the EU-Mission and serves as a platform for partner search for joint research proposals.

On March 11 and March 14, 2024, the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR) and the Israel-Europe R&I Directorate (ISERD) organize a joint workshop series on the EU-Mission on Cancer. The event provides insights into the EU-Mission and offers a platform for partner search to start new research collaborations.

Due to the current situation in Israel, the "Bavaria-Israel Workshop Series: How to build a "Horizon Europe" proposal for topics from Cluster 2 (Clture, Creativitiy and Inclusive Society)" is postponed to a later date. Thank you for your understanding. 

On October 26 and November 6, 2023, the Scientific Coordination Office Bavaria-Israel of the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR) and the „Israel-Europe R&I Directorate“ (ISERD) organize a workshop series on "How to build a "Horizon Europe" proposal for topics from Cluster 2 (Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society)?" with a focus on the submission process for calls from the current European Research Framework Program "Horizon Europe".

From 9-11 October 2023, the international conference and networking event "Guaranteeing Food Security through AI" will be held in Kulmbach, Germany, where innovative solutions in the field of food security and artificial intelligence will be presented and discussed.

On May 24, May 31 and June 6, 2023, the Scientific Coordination Office Bavaria-Israel of the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR) and the "Israel-Europe R&I Directorate" (ISERD) invite to a workshop series "How to build a HEU-proposal in the field of HEALTH " on the application process for calls from the current European Research Framework Program "Horizon Europe" within the framework of the 10th Bavarian-Israeli Think Tank.

Research and innovation are central to the bilateral relations between Bavaria and Israel. Nowadays, Bavarian-Israeli scientific relations cover almost all areas of research: health, energy, foodtech, agriculture, artificial intelligence, social science and humanities, to name just a few that reflect the broad field of common interests.  

Artificial intelligence affects almost all areas of our daily lives today. Research at the interface of artificial intelligence, humanities and social sciences is a highly dynamic and nowadays inevitable field. Big data and machine learning have the capacity to revolutionize research about humans, their social formations, and their cultural practices, while research in the “soft” sciences is fundamental for understanding the potential consequences of changes imposed by technological advances.

On 29 November 2022, the Scientific Coordination Office Bavaria-Israel of the Bavarian-Research Alliance (BayFOR), the „Israel-Europe R&I Directorate“ (ISERD), the Franco-Bavarian University cooperation center (BayFRANCE) and the Embassy of France in Germany organize a joint symposium on upcoming calls of the EU Mission “Climate neutral and Smart Cities”.
