The purpose of the subproject TP-D is the identification of interfaces between subprojects as well as the consolidation of the results into one or more comprehensive demonstrators. All results of the research project are showcased by notable problem formulations. The intended use cases act as the starting point for further specifications of the demonstrators.
On an early basis, all showcases are being analyzed and documented. Requirements lists are devoted from each showcase. Furthermore, an early evaluation and risk assessment of each considerable research subject is made.
Based on the showcases, an overall concept for the demonstrator is developed. Doing so, especially interfaces are defined a specified. By creating a system architecture the conceptual setup gets documented and replicable. While creating a concept, the stages of each partial solution are taken account of. This enables an iterative evaluation and extension of the entire system. In the second stage of each partial solution the scope of each solution is significantly enhanced.
Identifying and specializing the essential subsystem creates a more detailed overall concept. Therefore, sub concepts are developed to illustrate the requirements and use cases. In a first stage of expansion the feasibility and suitability of the developed sub concepts are evaluated. Subsequently, in a second stage these sub concepts are broadened in their functions. This expansion especially addresses the flexibility considering the form of the team.
By creating a total integration towards a consolidated demonstrator, the sub concepts are implemented in a constrained range of functions and usage. Scope conditions concerning hardware and usage are consulted. An evaluation during the implementation process allows for early identification of potentials and risks, which can be taken into account instantly. The goal of this work package is to create a functional (partly constrained) demonstrator to accomplish all uses cases.
Within a second stage of expansion missing functionalities are added to the use cases. These can consider different forms of teams (teams consist out of two or more executers) or special situations (properties of a mobile platform at road junctions). This is built on the gain of knowledge acquired in the first stage of expansion. This work package aims to create a robust and suitable demonstrator for all applications.
