German-Israeli Water Technology Cooperation (submission deadline: March 13, 2024)

As part of the German-Israeli Water Technology Cooperation, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Israeli Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) are inviting proposals for bilateral research projects in the field of water technology.

The current call for proposals focuses on the following topics:

1. Biotechnology for water treatment

2. Water reuse in agriculture

The overarching objectives of the cooperation are:

• Improvement of the water situation in Israel and the surrounding area and/or Germany. The transferability of the results to comparable regions should be ensured as far as possible.
• Access to new markets for Israeli and German companies in the water and environmental sector.
• Supporting and strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the water sector as well as cooperation between science and industry.

The joint project proposals of the German and Israeli partners will be selected for funding with the help of external reviews by the BMBF and MOST.

Project duration

Proposed projects should not exceed a maximum duration of 3 years.

Application deadline

The submission deadline for joint project proposals is March 13, 2024. Please note: Researchers from Israel must submit a preliminary project outline via the portal https://kf.most.gov.il by March 06, 2024.
