Digital Round Table: Hydrogen Research in Bavaria and Israel (27 April 2021)

On 27 April 2021, the first Bavarian-Israeli Round Table on Hydrogen took place, during which eight Bavarian and Israeli representatives from the fields of research and development presented the latest trends and current topics in the field of hydrogen. 

In their welcoming speeches at the beginning of the event, the Bavarian Minister of State for European Affairs and International Affairs Melanie Huml and the Israeli Consul General Sandra Simovich underlined the relevance of the topic of hydrogen for the economy and science of Bavaria and Israel. Gideon Fridman, Chief Scientist of the Israeli Ministry of Energy and Christian Egetemeyr, Deputy Head of the Department for Energy Research and Technologies of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, then presented the hydrogen strategies of Israel and Bavaria.
In a direct exchange, the participating representatives from research and development presented their own focal points and trends in the field of hydrogen development. Overall, the event highlighted numerous points of contact and common interests in this field of research.
The event was organised in cooperation between the Scientific Coordination Office Bavaria-Israel of the Bavarian Research Alliance, the Israeli Ministry of Energy and the Israel-Europe R&D Directorate (ISERD).
