Information Session: Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (3 December 2025)

On 3 December 2025, the Scientific Coordination Office Bavaria-Israel of the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR) and the Erasmus+ Office Israel are jointly hosting a digital information event that will also offer an opportunity to search for partners for the Erasmus+ programme ‘Capacity Building in Higher Education’ (CBHE). Participants will gain comprehensive insights into the various programme strands and receive best practice tips on the application process. They are also invited to present their own project ideas in a short pitch in order to find new cooperation partners.

The Erasmus+ action ‘Capacity Building Projects in Higher Education’ promotes international cooperation projects based on multilateral partnerships between European and non-European higher education institutions. The projects are intended to support the relevance, quality, modernisation and responsiveness of higher education in universities and higher education systems in third countries not associated with the programme. Israel belongs to the group of countries in the southern Mediterranean region (Group 3) and can therefore participate both as a coordinator and as a partner within a consortium for a project in the field of ‘Capacity Building in Higher Education’.

The event is aimed at Bavarian, Israeli and other European stakeholders in the field of higher education and offers comprehensive insights into the programme's relevant funding strands, the application process, evaluation criteria, budget planning and the formation of a competitive consortium. The focus is on the funding guidelines for the following project areas:

  • Strand 1: Fostering access to cooperation in higher education: These projects promote cooperation projects with less experienced higher education institutions, smaller players and newcomers from third countries;
  • Strand 2: Partnerships for transformation in higher education: These larger-scale projects promote peer learning and the exchange of experiences and good practice.

In the second part of the event, participants will gain a deeper understanding of selected programme priorities in three parallel breakout sessions and are invited to present their own project ideas (max. 3 min. / max. 3 slides).

  • Breakout Session 1: Green Deal
  • Breakout Session 2: Governance, Peace, Security and Human Development
  • Breakout Session 3: Sustainable Growth and Jobs
