Africa Forum Bavaria 2024

 The Africa Forum offers small and medium-sized enterprises in Bavaria with a platform for information, exchange and networking to promote their economic cooperation with countries in sub-Saharan Africa. In addition to keynote speeches by key players from politics, media and business, workshops will be offered in the following areas:

• Skills and training in Africa
• Financing and Promotion
• Trade and logistics
• Environmental Technology

The event will be opened by Tobias Gotthardt, State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, who is planning a delegation trip to Kenya and Tanzania in the autumn of 2024.

Christian Hiller von Gaertringen, Editor-in-Chief of Africa.Table, will present the opportunities and trends of top markets in African countries.

Delegates from selected African countries and organisations will report on the economic potential of individual countries, characterised by strong growth and a young population. A final highlight will be the closing remarks by Eric Beißwenger, State Secretary for European and International Affairs.

BayFOR's WKS Bavaria-Africa will provide information at its stand on opportunities for international cooperation in science and innovation between Bavarian and African stakeholders. Current calls for proposals of the European Union, in which Bavarian and African institutions can participate, will be presented.

International cooperation with countries of the global South, especially with African countries, is an important part of Hoizon Europe, the EU’s framework programme for research and innovation. WKS Bayern-Africa will also present its portfolio, the main aim of which is to promote African-Bavarian exchanges in the field of research and innovation.
