18th Science Day of the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region in Amberg

On 11 July 2025, the 18th Science Day of the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region will take place at the OTH Amberg-Weiden under the motto “Change as an opportunity – shaping the future.” The Bavarian Research and Innovation Agency (BayFIA) will be represented again this year, providing information about current projects and the services offered by the four partner organisations.

The Science Day of the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region (Wissenschaftstag der Metropolregion Nürnberg) is a central presentation platform for the entire region – a “scientific showcase” that promotes exchange and new cooperation between science, business, politics, and education.

This year's event will focus on the changes triggered by digitalization in various social, scientific, and economic areas. In four panels, experts will discuss the current state of knowledge in artificial intelligence and its use in production, cybersecurity, energy efficiency, and digitization in healthcare, and will present innovative approaches in the field of digital business models, among other things.

You can look forward to the following panels:

  • Panel 1: Quantum computers and large language models for IT security – opportunities and risks
  • Panel 2: Health 4.0: The interface between technology, economics, and medicine
  • Panel 3: Energy and resource efficiency: Sustainable paths for the future of energy supply
  • Panel 4: AI & I – Shaping the working world of the future responsibly

The program will be rounded off by keynote speeches by Markus Blume, Bavarian Minister of State for Science and the Arts, Christian Doleschal, Member of the European Parliament, Ramona Grosser, Head of Human Resources at Siemens AG Amberg/Cham, together with Manuela Stoeckl, Head of Talent Acquisition Germany for Digital Industries.
BayFOR will be participating at the BayFIA stand with project examples and consulting services on (EU) research and innovation funding for science and industry.
