BayFOR as EEN partner at the "88th International Trade Fair of Thessaloniki (TIF)"
This year's T.I.F. will feature several pavilions dedicated to new technologies, innovation and sustainable development, and will address the current challenges facing the country's most important economic sectors. The Federal Republic of Germany as Guest of Honour in the "German Pavilion" will be accompanied by a wide-ranging of entertainment and cultural events for the public.
The event will be jointly opened by the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and the German Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Dr Robert Habeck.
It is intended to mark the start of enhanced cooperation between the two countries in the field of research and innovation.
The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) is responsible for organising the content and co-financing the German presence in the host country. The special needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are taken into account: Thanks to the support of the Federal Government, SMEs can also take part in the trade fair abroad. At the same time, the "German Pavilion" is a visiting card for Germany as a business location. “Leipziger Messe International GmbH” organises the German presence at the fair.
Prior to the TIF, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) had already published a bilateral call to intensify cooperation with Greece in the field of green hydrogen (deadline for project outlines: 24 July 2024).
Innovation and technology, e.g. in the fields of renewable energy, mobility and digitalisation, will play just as important a role in Germany's presentation as education, research, nutrition and culture. A varied program of thematic days in the "German Pavilion", educational events, networking/brokerage events and company presentations, as well as a cultural program in the city, will accompany Germany's appearance as Guest of Honour.
TIF 2024 is a good opportunity for Bavarian and Greek players (especially SMEs) in research and innovation to strengthen and deepen German-Greek economic and business relations.
Ideal networking opportunity for Bavarian and Greek SMEs at the joint EEN stand
Six EEN networks from different German federal states will be represented at the joint stand of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), including the EEN Bavaria network, represented by the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR). BayFOR will be on hand to advise Bavarian and Greek SMEs on possible cooperation in EU research and innovation projects and on EU funding programs such as Horizon Europe and Digital Europe. A visit to the EEN stand will also give Bavarian stakeholders the opportunity to meet potential cooperation partners on the spot.
The BayFOR team will be happy to help you expand your network, set up your EU consortium with Bavarian stakeholders and support your application! Get in touch with us!
Dr Panteleïmon Panagiotou, Head of the Department of ICT and Natural and Engineering Sciences at BayFOR, will give a lecture on the topic "EU funding: opportunities for Europe to come together in research and innovation" on 12.09.2024 at 3 pm.
