BayFOR at the Battery Innovation Days 2024

After three successful editions, the Battery Innovation Days are back! On 26 and 27 November 2024, leading politicians, researchers and industry representatives will meet in Barcelona to discuss the future of battery research and innovation in Europe.

The initiators and organisers of this hybrid event - the ‘Battery Innovation Days’ - are the main European research and innovation initiatives in the battery sector: Batteries Europe, Battery 2030+, and the Batteries European Partnership Association (BEPA) and IPCEI (Important Project of Common European Interest) - four initiatives tworking together to drive forward European battery research forward.

Aims of the event

Batteries are crucial to the development of technologies that will enable the EU to achieve its zero emission targets through a responsible and sustainable market. Join us for two days of exciting dialogue between scientists, policy makers, industry representatives and end-users to drive battery research and innovation in Europe. The aim of the BID is to increase knowledge and promote the exchange on the use of cutting-edge technologies in battery materials, cell design, manufacturing and recycling.

BayFOR will have its own stand where the following EU projects successfully funded with BayFOR support will be exhibited:

• Hyflow - The best of two systems: Development of a new hybrid energy storage system
• Twinvector - Pooling European competence in the development of world-class next-generation batteries
• RecyLIB - Reducing batteries’ environmental footprint
• SMHYLES - Development of novel salt- and water-based hybrid energy storage systems (HESS) on an industrial scale
