BayFOR at COP27

At the COP27 conference, countries come together to take action towards achieving the world’s collective climate goals as agreed under the Paris Agreement and the Convention. Taking place in Africa for the first time since 2016, the conference is expected to specifically address Africa's climate challenges, The Green Zone of COP27 is a platform for stakeholders from academia, the business community, and the civil society to take part in the activities of the conference.

At the booth, BayFOR’s Scientific Coordination Office Bavaria-Africa will provide information for African and other international stakeholders on EU funding with a focus on global climate action. It will also inform visitors on networking and cooperation opportunities with Bavarian institutions in the field of science, research and innovation.

On 16 November 2022, BayFOR will also participate as a speaker in the panel session “ElGhargana Bedouin Village – Sharm El-Sheikh Bedouin culture”. In the session, the ElGhargana Bedouin Village will be showcased, a project of the German University of Cairo Architecture team and the Egyptian Ministry of the Environment. BayFOR's contribution to the panel will relate to European funding opportunities in research and innovation (in terms of ecological, energy-efficient but also cultural aspects).
