Funding at a glance: EU funding for SMEs

Many Bavarian companies already receive financial support for their innovations through national and regional funding programmes. But those with a Europe-wide outlook can take advantage of Horizon Europe. What lies behind this billion-euro framework programme for research and innovation from the European Union? What opportunities does it offer small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) – particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics and digitalisation? What is involved in applying for and implementing a project? Which calls for proposals in the fields of AI, robotics, etc. are currently open with deadlines in October 2025? BayFOR will answer these questions and more in the webinar ‘Funding compact: EU funding for SMEs', taking place on 25 June 2025.

The webinar series 'Funding Compact' forms part of the EU project 'Digital Innovation East Bavaria', or DInO for short. To promote the digitalisation of SMEs and start-ups in eastern Bavaria, the Mobility & Logistics Cluster and its project partners — TH Deggendorf (StartUp Campus), the Bavarian AI Agency, the Bayerische Forschungsallianz (BayFOR) and the Digital Gründerinitiative Oberpfalz (Digital Start-up Initiative Upper Palatinate) — offer support with financing and funding issues. DInO services are free of charge for SMEs and start-ups. The webinar ‘Funding compact: EU Funding for SMEs' is co-organised by TRANSFORM.R.

As a DInO associate project partner, BayFOR provides information on current EU funding opportunities with autumn 2025 deadlines and demonstrates how SMEs can successfully obtain funding from Brussels.

Contents of the webinar:

  • Getting started with Horizon Europe: objectives, structures and opportunities for SMEs
  • Current EU calls for proposals in 2025: AI, robotics and digital technologies
  • How to submit a successful application: consulting, partner search and application support.
