Innovation Days 2023: Sustainability and Space
Space research and its technological developments and innovations are increasingly seen as a driving force for the economy. However, it is also increasingly recognised as the key to better understanding processes on Earth and the changes they bring to society. Space solutions provide important tools for a greener and more sustainable planet and combating global warming.
The event aims to find answers to the following questions:
- Which technologies from space can we use for applications on Earth, including across borders?
- How can the Czech Republic, Saxony and Bavaria utilise applied space research for a stronger economy that contributes to sustainable development?
- What benefits will Czech, Saxon and Bavarian society, industry and business derive from space innovations for sustainability?
In its presentation, BayFOR will provide information on calls for proposals from the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) as well as other EU calls for proposals on the topic of space within Horizon Europe (cluster 4). BayFOR also provides information about its corresponding service offering to support the application of prospective consortia with Bavarian participation.
EUSPA's calls for proposals in the field of space fall under Pillar II of Horizon Europe, where Cluster 4 of the work programme in particular focuses on the areas of digital, industry and space. The third EUSPA Horizon Europe call with a total budget of EUR 34.5 million is now open. The deadline for submitting proposals is 14 February 2024. Further information can be found here and here.
