Interregional Workshop on Green Materials & Production for Batteries under Horizon Europe and other EU funding schemes
The transition to climate neutrality, including through clean and low emission mobility, will bring significant opportunities for economic growth, job creation and technological development in Europe. Demand for batteries is expected to grow very rapidly in the coming years. Forward-looking research, development and innovation policies will have a key role to enable Europe and its Member States to make the most of this transition. Therefore, the European Commission supports by funds the research and development of the whole value chain of batteries, e.g. materials, cell design and production processes for batteries of the next generation to make Europe an important battery location worldwide.
This brings interesting funding opportunities for European researchers specialized in battery technologies.
Therefore, we would like to invite you to join our online workshop, where you will have the opportunity:
- to meet with other researchers from academia and industry working on batteries;
- to hold a short presentation (pitch talk of max. 4 minutes) on your project idea,
the topic(s) you would like to address and the partners you are looking for;
- to network with other participants, match on specific topics and initiate joint proposals/projects related to (e.g.):
1. the following Horizon Europe topics related to batteries (Deadline for proposal submission on 6 September 2022):
Sustainable processing and refining of battery grade graphite (Batteries Partnership)
Interface and electron monitoring for the engineering of new and emerging battery technologies (Batteries Partnership)
Furthering the development of a materials acceleration platform for sustainable batteries (combining AI, big data, autonomous synthesis robotics, high throughput testing) (Batteries Partnership)
Towards creating an integrated manufacturing value chain in Europe: from machinery development to plant and site integrated design (Batteries Partnership)
Next generation technologies for High-performance and safe-by-design battery systems for transport and mobile applications (Batteries Partnership)
Embedding smart functionalities into battery cells (embedding sensing and self-healing functionalities to monitor and self-repair battery cells) (Batteries Partnership)
Digitalisation of battery testing, from cell to system level, including lifetime assessment (Batteries Partnership)
Coordination of large-scale initiative on future battery technologies (Batteries Partnership)
Physics and data-based battery management for optimised battery utilisation (Batteries Partnership)
Streamlined collection and reversed logistics, fully automated, safe and cost-efficient sorting, dismantling and second use before recycling (Batteries Partnership)
2. Battery-related topics in the M-ERA.NET call (Deadline for proposal submission on 15 June 2022):
- Materials for energy
- Innovative surfaces, coatings and interfaces
- High performance composites
- Functional materials
- New strategies for advanced material-based technologies for health applications
- Materials for electronics
If you would like to give a short presentation (pitch talk of max. 4 minutes), please indicate it when you register for the workshop using the registration form and send your presentation to email@example.com no later than 2 May 2022.
Please use this PowerPoint Template for your presentation.
Please note the conditions criteria and practical information on the pitch talk session.
Please note that there is only a limited number of slots for pitch talks. The organisers reserve the right to prioritise the speakers based on the quality of their submitted presentations and their project ideas. On 6 May 2022 at the latest, you will be informed whether you will have the opportunity to present your project idea at the pitch talk.
Wednesday, 11 May 2022, 9:00 to 16:00 hrs (CEST)
This event will take place online using the tool GotoWebinar. The technical requirements can be found here (GoToWebinar).
