Munich. The conference "Let´s go circular!" on 9th October in Munich will deal with opportunities for the introduction of a circular economy in the built environment with a focus on cooperation between Germany and the Netherlands. The Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR) will take part in the event and present a poster.

The German construction industries require about 550 million tons of mineral raw materials in a year while producing 200 million tons of waste. This sector is also responsible for 40% of the energy consumption and 35% of the CO2 emissions. Therefore, it is high time to pave the way for a circular approach in these industries.

Investors, architects, government, building industry and research are invited to explore opportunities for a circular economy in the built environment. The event aims at creating awareness for the necessity and advantages of circular construction. It also focuses on promoting cooperation between Germany and the Netherlands for a resource efficient built environment and common standards in Europe.

The conference is a collaboration of the Consulate-General of the Netherlands, the TU Delft and the TUM Department of Architecture. It is supported by the TUM.wood group, the Royal Institute of Dutch architects BNA and Bayern Innovativ.
