Online workshop: EU funding for highly innovative start-ups and scale-ups: The EIC Accelerator
With grant funding of up to €2.5 million and the possibility of a contribution of up to €15 million from the European Investment Bank as blended finance, the European Innovation Council (EIC) supports the development and global commercialisation of ground-breaking, disruptive technologies with the EIC Accelerator, making it one of the most popular funding programmes for highly innovative start-ups and scale-ups in the EU. A total of 1083 companies from 39 countries applied by the November 2023 cut-off alone. Of these, 42 companies from 15 countries have been granted the funding. The success rate for Bavarian start-ups was around 11 per cent.
The workshop will explain how BayFOR's application support works. Helpful tips and advice for applicants will also be provided. The event is particularly aimed at start-ups and scale-ups and is suitable for participants with and without prior knowledge of the EIC Accelerator.
The EU Commission has recently simplified the EIC Accelerator application process with new regulations which have been in place since the beginning of 2024.
In our free workshop, we will introduce you to the new regulations and the application procedure. The experts from BayFOR's SME Advisory Services, together with external speakers, will provide a comprehensive insight into the application process and share the best strategies for a successful application - from the ‘Short Application’ to the ‘Full Application’ and the pitch interview in front of the jury in Brussels. In addition, a successful Bavarian company funded by the EIC will report on its experiences and lessons learnt.
The workshop also brings together experts from the National Contact Point, and a patent expert, offering a unique opportunity to network and exchange ideas with experts and other start-ups/scale-ups.
