Launch of the new ERA Talent Platform - 20 Years Supporting Researchers in Motion through EURAXESS

ERA Talent Platform

10 June 2024 marks the launch of the ERA Talent Platform, a novel solution for researchers and research-performing organisations. This comprehensive online gateway offers seamless access to a range of services, including EURAXESS service centers and portals, the HR Excellence in Research initiative, the RESAVER pension scheme, the Innovation Talent Platform, and the Research and Innovation Careers Observatory.

By uniting these services under one umbrella, the ERA Talent Platform addresses the research community’s demand for a centralised hub that provides all relevant information and enhances interoperability among such initiatives.

The Platform is launched in the framework of the EURAXESS Biennial Conference 2024, taking place in the 2024 European City of Science – Katowice, bringing together the European and worldwide network of EURAXESS and various stakeholders.

Iliana Ivanova, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, said:

“Today, we are thrilled to launch the new ERA Talent Platform, a one-stop-shop for vital information and services for the research community. This is another milestone on our journey towards a vibrant, interconnected European Research Area where talent knows no boundaries. We need to attract and retain talent in Europe for research and innovation to thrive and underpin our prosperity and competitiveness.”

Revamped EURAXESS portal and 20 Years Anniversary

During the event, the Commission also announced the revamping of the European EURAXESS portal, allowing now researchers and research-performing organisations to easier navigate and access information, apply for positions, and take advantage of services offered by the EURAXESS network.

In addition to improving user interaction, the revamped EURAXESS portal allows for better integration with other data systems such as EUROPASS, enhancing data exchange and interoperability. It also improves performance and strengthens security measures to safeguard user data. These updates are integral in supporting the European research community by simplifying access to useful resources and fostering cross-border collaborations.

Established 20 years ago, "EURAXESS – Researchers in Motion" is an initiative of the European Research Area (ERA). The network currently includes 43 member countries with more than 610 service centers, offering tailored information on 18 topics of support (VISA, pension, taxes, etc.), and 9 international offices operating in various regions of the world.  As of January 2024, the European EURAXESS portal counts more than 14.000 registered organisations, more than 110.000 researchers active on the platform, and an average of 62.000+ jobs, funding, and hosting opportunities published each year.
