Women Entrepreneurs Alliance: BayFOR strengthens support for female entrepreneurs
Women Entrepreneurs Alliance connects services for female entrepreneurs
Munich and Bavaria already offer a wide range of support for female entrepreneurs – from advice and coaching to networks, financing and funding. Until now, however, the services provided by the various institutions have often lacked sufficient coordination.
The Women Entrepreneurs Alliance aims to close this gap. Rather than creating new parallel services, it connects existing structures and expertise within Munich’s start-up and innovation ecosystem. This will help female entrepreneurs find the support that best matches their company, their current start-up or growth phase and their specific needs.
Alongside BayFOR, the founding members of the WE Alliance include BayStartUP, BioM, gate Garching, GründerRegioM, HOCHSPRUNG, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Munich and Upper Bavaria (IHK), the City of Munich, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU), Munich Startup, the Technical University of Munich (TUM), UnternehmerTUM and WERK1.
BayFOR supports female entrepreneurs with EU funding
BayFOR contributes its expertise in research and innovation funding to the Women Entrepreneurs Alliance. It supports female entrepreneurs from start-ups, scale-ups and innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in identifying suitable funding opportunities at German federal, EU and international level.
A particular focus is on EU research and innovation funding for innovative and technology-driven companies. Through the EU project EEN2EIC, BayFOR provides female founders and entrepreneurs with targeted guidance, advice, coaching and pitch training. This support is designed to help companies improve their chances of success in highly competitive programmes such as the EIC Accelerator of the European Innovation Council (EIC).
A strong network for female entrepreneurs in Munich and Bavaria
The Women Entrepreneurs Alliance brings together universities, research institutions, start-up centres, funding organisations, companies, investors and other stakeholders. Its aim is to create synergies and make it easier for female entrepreneurs to access relevant networks, knowledge and resources.
Gründerland Bayern provides an overview of the participating institutions and their respective services for female entrepreneurs.
