Chances and Challenges: The EU Green Deal and its Role for Research & Innovation
The expert discussion is joint by Nili Shalev, Director of the Israel-Europe R&D Directorate (ISERD), Bernd Biervert, Head of Ecological and Social Transitions Unit of the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation of the European Commission, Prof. Andrea Büttner, Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV in Freising, Prof. Ernst R. Timm, des. Vice President Research of the University of Regensburg and Prof. Masha Niv, Vice Dean for Research at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment of the Hebrew University Jerusalem.
As being part of the EU Research Framework Programme Horizon 2020, the European Green Deal Call includes a budget of EUR 1 billion and contains 11 different areas, which support the implementation of the European Green Deal. The European Green Deal Call offers new funding and cooperation opportunities for research institutes in Europe and beyond. Additionally, it provides an insight into the key priorities of the European Commission, which will then continue throughout the next Framework Programme, Horizon Europe.
