Excellence Lab: Funding Opportunities in ERASMUS+ for Capacity Building in Higher Education Systems – Fostering African-European Networks and South-South Collaboration
The workshop will provide a basic introduction to the funding instrument ERASMUS+, with a strong emphasis on the specific requirements for Key Action 2 applications and common challenges faced in the process. The event serves as an ideal platform to help participants prepare their ERASMUS+ project applications and to provide inspiration for enriching and sustainable international cooperation.
ERASMUS+ is a European Union programme that supports various education and training activities as well as cooperation in the fields of education, training, youth and sport. Key Action 2 with the Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) action provides funding for projects and partnerships between organisations from different countries to develop and implement innovative educational practices, improve competencies and enhance the quality of education and training systems. For example, it can include actions such as
- developing innovative curricula and teaching methods
- increasing the focus of degree programmes on business and industry (for example, through internships)
- building up innovation centres
- internationalization of Higher Education Institutions
- continuing education programmes for employees of Higher Education Institutions
