Panel discussion in Brussels: „Promoting innovation for SME post-2020“

Brussels. At the moment the European Commission generates the guidance for the funding period after 2020. Against this background, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Munich and Upper Bavaria (CCI) invites all interested organisations and enterprises to a lecture with panel discussion about EU funding measures for SMEs after 2020. Further host organisations are the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR), the EU office of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and all the partners of the Enterprise Europe Network.

Recently, the European Commission has published a proposal for the new EU funding programme Horizon Europe as of 2021. The objective is to modify substantially the current EU funding measures for SMEs, especially through the establishment of the European Innovation Council (EIC).

The host organisations will discuss the following questions:

  1. How will the funding instruments for innovative SMEs look like in the future and, accordingly, which kind of SMEs will benefit more and which ones less?
  2. How will the EIC look like in the future, and how will it compare to and be combined with other relevant national and EU funding instruments for SMEs?
  3. Which role will the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) play in the future in Horizon Europe, as EEN is currently playing a central role in Europe as a contact point and service provider for SMEs?
