Brussels. Universities of applied sciences (UAS) are still underrepresented in research funding at the European level. On 15 March, 2017, an international conference will offer a platform for learning more about European funding opportunities especially tailored to the needs of applied researchers and for networking with officials and other applicants. The event will be organised by the European network UAS4EUROPE in cooperation with the Bavarian Research Alliance and the Representation of the State of Hessen to the European Union.

Rationale
Are you interested in learning more about the European funding opportunities especially tailored to the needs of applied researchers? Interested in meeting colleagues from other UAS in Europe? The daytime conference will address the challenges UAS are facing when engaging on the European level, but also the chances international cooperation offers. It will provide interesting insights into the European Commission’s agenda for the coming years, practical tips on how to successfully apply for funding as well as many opportunities to exchange experiences with officials and other applicants.

Target audience
The conference is intended primarily for researchers and EU (policy) officers working at European UAS.

Programme
The agenda comprises plenary sessions with informative speeches and a panel discussion as well as a session with parallel workshops on the following topics:

    Health and Wellbeing
    Environment, Food and Agriculture
    Living and Working in the 21st Century
    Energy and Climate Change
    Enabling and Industrial Technologies, Digitalisation
    Arts and Design

These workshops will allow networking with other applicants and offer an opportunity to exchange experiences. To facilitate the search for interesting cooperation partners, the workshops are organised along some of the grand challenges of our time.
