SYSTEMEU: Connecting innovation ecosystems – shaping Europe together
SYSTEMEU is one of only five EU-wide flagship projects under the European Innovation Ecosystems pillar of the Horizon Europe programme. Its aim is to connect European regions more effectively, close innovation gaps, and leverage disruptive technologies for digital and ecological transformation.
Funding: around €7.5 million in EU funding (€3.1 million of which is allocated to Bavaria).
Duration: January 2025 – September 2028
Partner countries: Bosnia-Herzegovina, Germany, Portugal, Romania and Spain
Participating regions: Bavaria, Braga, Castile and León, Tuzla and Varna
This workshop is intended for companies, research institutions, start-ups, politicians and administrators seeking to focus their innovation activities on Europe and explore new opportunities for collaboration, particularly in the forward-looking fields of health, energy and mobility.

Keynote speech by Martin Reichel (CEO of BayFOR): 'The impact of transregional cooperation and the importance of joint projects in implementing the European innovation strategy and the Smart Specialisation Strategy'.
Keynote speech by Reverion GmbH: 'European funding for disruptive start-ups: strategy and impact'.
15:00 – 17:30: Focus groups on digitalisation in the fields of health, energy and mobility
17:30–18:00: Outlook and next steps
From 18:00: Networking and dinner (Amari Bar, optional).
