Your tasks
As part of the evaluation panel, your tasks will include:
- the technical and ethical evaluation of project proposals,
- the assessment of financing plans,
- and acting as a rapporteur in consultations.
The work will be carried out within the framework of annual calls for proposals. Appropriate remuneration will be paid for each task.
Technical requirements and subject areas
We are looking for experts with sound experience in military research and development as well as in project management in a national, European or NATO context.
Thematic priorities:
- Cyber security, information superiority, digital transformation
- Chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) threats
- Air, land, sea and underwater warfare
- Medical support, biotechnology, human factors
- Energy security, ecological transformation, materials
- Disruptive technologies and innovative defence solutions (e.g. from SMEs)
- Simulation, training and ethical aspects in defence research
Requirements
Applicants must:
- be citizens of an EU Member State
- be fluent in English
- be professionally qualified
- hold a valid personal security clearance (PSC) at EU confidential level.

Deadlines and selection
The call is open until 1 December 2027, 10:00 (CET).
The Commission will review applications on a rolling basis for future evaluation phases (May to October for evaluations, May to March for ethics checks). Selection will be based on professional competence, experience, geographical diversity and compliance with integrity standards.
