Regional innovation support: Webinar series on the international Cascade Calls of the EU project SYSTEMEU

As a partner in the European project SYSTEMEU, BayFOR is driving forward networking between Bavarian innovation drivers and international partners in four other European regions: Norte (PT), Castilla y León (ES), Tuzla Canton (BA) and North-West (RO). Together with the SYSTEMEU partners, it is organising information sessions from March to July 2026 on the Cascade Call “Financial Support to Third Parties” (FSTP) – a call for interregional collaborative projects in the field of digitalisation within the health, mobility and energy sectors. The call is scheduled to be published in early June.

IFAT Munich 2026 will take place from 4 to 7 May 2026 at the Messe München exhibition centre. As the world’s leading trade fair for environmental technologies, it brings together international players from the fields of water management, waste management, recycling and resource efficiency. Over 3,000 exhibitors from more than 60 countries will present innovative solutions to the challenges of climate change and sustainable development. The Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR) will be present at the event, showcasing its portfolio of services relating to EU funding, international cooperation and research projects. BayFOR is contributing its expertise on key future-oriented topics such as climate adaptation, the circular economy and sustainable resource use.

Horizon Europe Online Workshop: How to develop a competitive EU proposal? Democratic Resilience and Disaster Preparedness

On March 24 and 25 2026, the Research Center RISK – Risk, Infrastructure, Security and Conflict at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich (the University of the Federal Armed Forces), in cooperation with the Scientific Coordination Office (WKS) Bavaria-Israel of the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR), is hosting a Horizon Europe workshop including a matchmaking session. The event is aimed at experts from Bavaria, Israel, and other countries who would like to submit an application for projects in the Horizon Europe subject areas of Democratic Resilience and Disaster Preparedness. In addition to in-depth information and tips for a successful application, participants will have the opportunity to establish new collaborations with international partners.

The National Contact Point for Digital and Industrial Technologies (NKS DIT) will once again be hosting the “KETs EU Brokerage Event 2026” in Karlsruhe on 4 and 5 February 2026. As an EEN partner, BayFOR is co-organising the event for Bavarian participants. The event will bring together reasearch and innovation stakeholders from across Europe to discuss current Horizon Europe calls for proposals and form new consortia. The focus is on key enabling technologies (KETs) and innovative solutions in the fields of industry, manufacturing, materials, digitalisation, artificial intelligence, robotics, battery technologies, and hydrogen.
